All apartments and
houses are situated in the area of Apokoronas. Many people
says that it is the most beautiful part of Crete.
Kalives is a small
village by the sea in Souda bay close to Hania. It has a wide sandy beach
and is the ideal place for calm vacations by the sea. From here you can
make some nice trips like the ancient city of Aptera. There is a post
office, bank, telephone service and many shops and traditional taverns.
Tsivaras is a small
delightful village overlooking the lush countryside. It is only five
minutes drive from Kalives beach and is for those who are looking for
peaceful holidays.
Douliana, an ancient village, is located on a small
hilltop close to the sea (10 minutes drive) and surrounded by forests of
cypress and oak. There is a local coffee shop that also serves duty of a
super market and one tavern.
Vamos is the
administrative centre of Vamos district. Many traditional houses have been
restored. The village offers many services like district court, telephone
service, police station and health centre.
Gavalohori is a
traditional village with lovely stone built houses on a landscape of rare
beauty. In some shops you can find traditional handicrafts.
Almirida-Aspro is
located by the sea, 4,5 km away from Kalives. Some ruins of a 11th century
basilica with mosaics you can see here. There are two small sandy beaches
with small taverns. Five minutes drive from Almirida is also Aspro with a
remarkable view.
Armeni is located
close to Kalives. The entire area is very green and full of fruit bearing
trees and flowers.
Plaka is a small
settlement by the sea. There is a small bay with a nice view of the Souda
bay.
Kokkino Horio is a
traditional small village. You can see the small Byzantine church of St.
George and some mine constructions.
